Enabling a Sustainable
Future AHEAD

About Us

Hello, I’m Aaron Kim, Managing Director of SAMSUNG E&A America.
The U.S. office was established in 2008 as a center specializing in Front-End Loading (FEL) and has since focused on securing seamless project progression from FEL to EPC under the Shift Left strategy. We have carried out FEL for LyondellBasell, FEED for Sasol, and EPC projects for Dow, while also supporting the Lotte EG EPC project and the industrial plant S-1 project. More recently, we have independently executed two blue ammonia FEL projects.

In line with the global energy transition trend, the U.S. office is building FEL track records for new products while providing Energy Optimization and Decarbonization Study services. We are also securing new business opportunities and project stability through strategic collaboration with technology licensors, local vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and EPC firms.

Additionally, we are supporting the EPC execution of the Wabash project in the hydrocarbon sector, while establishing an integrated FEED-to-EPC execution framework so that multiple FEL projects—such as blue ammonia, SAF, and carbon capture—can successfully proceed to EPC phase. In the industrial environment sector as well, we plan to actively support the execution of the T-Project.

As the hub for projects in North America, our U.S. office will continue striving to secure new clients and uncover project opportunities in the region.

Matt Gebhardt

Principal Process Engineer

Hello, my name is Matt Gebhardt. I am a Principal Process Engineer at Samsung E&A America. At Samsung E&A, I have been a part of the Process Engineering group, doing work on feasibility studies, pre-Front-End Engineering Design (pre-FEED), and energy optimization projects. I have been lucky to work on a variety of projects with a lot of talented individuals who have helped me along the way. My responsibilities include providing process engineering deliverables such as PFDs, HMBs, P&IDs, Equipment Datasheets, Line Lists, Material Selection Diagrams (MSDs), Waste & Effluent Summaries, Flare Load Summaries, Process Philosophies, and more. I greatly enjoy working with other engineering disciplines. I continuously strive to improve our Process Engineering work and find optimization opportunities where possible. Our goal is to deliver high quality engineering deliverables within budget and schedule. Our clients have consistently come back for repeat work and express how much they appreciate the high quality of our work, while adapting to late design changes, and still completing projects on schedule.
To applicants considering a role here, I encourage you to bring your new ideas and a strong work ethic to Samsung E&A. Embrace opportunities to learn new tools, understand core engineering or career-related principles, and communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams. Samsung E&A is a highly ethical company who strongly values their employees. I believe you will find the teams here are very talented, have a strong work ethic, and are glad to help in your career development. Come join us and be a part of the future delivering large-scale projects that will be essential energy and infrastructure for our future generations.
